Investing in Binks: Streamlining Women's Tailoring with Perfect-Fit Solutions

We’re thrilled to announce our investment in Binks, a company transforming the experience of getting clothes stitched for women by delivering a perfect fit from the comfort of home.

The tailoring hassle

Millions of women face repeat visits to tailors, fitting issues and delayed deliveries. Binks addresses that pain point with technology, offering an ecommerce-like experience that simplifies the entire process.

How Binks works

Customers place an order on the app or website, have fabric picked up from their doorstep, consult experts to capture requirements, and provide measurements through several convenient options. Binks then uses software to create patterns for a perfect fit. Garments are stitched in a cloud factory, quality checked and shipped. In the rare case of alterations, the process repeats seamlessly.

Measurement at scale

At-home consultation
An expert captures measurements and requirements in person.
Existing garments
A well-fitted piece the customer already owns becomes the reference.
Measurement kit
A self-serve kit for customers who prefer to do it themselves.

All measurements and requirements flow through a central system and are translated into patterns with software, letting Binks scale and continuously improve the fit.

An $11 billion market

Binks is going after the highly fragmented, unorganized tailoring sector that serves a significant share of India’s women’s ethnic wear market — roughly $11 billion today and projected to reach $21 billion within seven years. By making custom-fit clothing accessible and convenient, Binks can capture a substantial share and arguably create a new category.

The team

Aamna Khan (CEO) was a product manager at Simpl and LocalOye and a senior marketing executive at CouponDunia, spanning product, operations and marketing. Raj Vardhan (COO) was head of analytics at Simpl and a data scientist at MuSigma, solving complex problems for Fortune 500 companies, and founded a graphic design company in college.

With strong revenue growth and a high rate of garments delivered needing no alteration, Binks has already built a loyal customer base with impressive repeat rates on a straightforward model: charge for collecting fabric, stitching and delivering it back.
